Product design for info-heavy web app by The D. E. Shaw Group venture studio startup

While we're preparing the full case, I wanted to share a sneak peek of the project. So we had the pleasure of teaming up with former leaders from the global hedge fund D.E.Shaw to build a DataOps co-pilot for enterprises aimed at optimizing data workflows, enhancing data warehouses, and reducing costs across the company's data stack.

What was designed and built:

  • Cloud resource insights at the core — monitoring of users, workloads, tools, and dashboards.
  • The granular data visibility made it possible to detect anomalies and track changes.
  • The granular data visibility made it possible to detect anomalies and track changes.
  • Actionable ML-driven insights and recommendations to optimize workloads and resources.
  • Potential changes simulator showing effects on the environment before implementation.

We achieved:

  • NPS = 9.
  • 10/10 early users were very satisfied with the UX.
  • Users achieved go-live status approx. in 20 mins.
  • Time to value (activation rate) = less than 4 minutes.
  • 70% conversion during sales demos with Figma prototypes of the product.
  • A great video testimonial by CEO Aviv Dekel is posted on our website (thanks a lot sir!

In the case we will tell how went the project.

Just a few points now:

  • We moved at a startup pace (very fast hehe), often postponing perfection for later and prioritizing progress.
  • We focused our time only on what was crucial at that moment (which is why the project is labeled as '5 min brand design' on our website 😄).
  • Design phases were mixed. To make this work, we defined a broad vision for the product and aimed to move within those boundaries.

It was a nice ride! Also huge shout out to Tamir Kedmi who was leading the product, and to Jordan Elkind who was in charge of positioning and marketing!
